Lelo Colclough (Deutsch)I discovered my passion to paint and draw at a very young age. Born and raised in Bavaria, Germany, I spent most of my adult life moving between Europe and the United States before settling in the Northwest a few years ago. This mobile lifestyle, including trips to several European Countries, Africa and Brazil, as well as greater parts of the United States, have given me the opportunity to learn more about the beauty and variable cultures in different parts of the world. I did not only visit many famous museums and galleries to see great masterpieces of art, but also studied with some excellent artists in this country and in Germany. Evolving from a realistic style, my work now reflects my love of simple contemporary lines, representational shapes and vibrant colors, that are transcribed onto the canvas. Exhibitions of my work can be seen at “Ambiente”, a Gallery and Gift store in Faulbach, Germany and at “Plenty’s”, a restaurant in downtown Olympia, Washington. I also had been invited to display a large body of my work at “Jazzbones” in Tacoma, WA during the month of September 2006. Other presentations included the Art’s Walk of Olympia, Art’s Olympia and Olympia Art League shows, plus several juried art shows. As an active member of the Art League of Olympia, I help to promote the visual arts in the South Puget Sound Community. ART IS THE VISUAL REMINDER OF OUR LIFE, OUR SOCIETY AND |
